What We Do

Feed the Region provides hot, take-away, family-sized meals to whoever needs them free of charge. We serve Northwest Indiana, cooking and serving in a centralized location, Nana Clare’s Kitchen in Valparaiso, IN.

We ask that community members pick up meals for their neighbors when they know that they are going through a hard time. Hunger, grief, illness, and general overwhelm are all great reasons to check in on your people. We want to be the best excuse to pick up dinner and provide that in-person check in.

It takes a community to serve a community. We not only feed our neighbors, but we give our neighbors a way to give back to their immediate community in real time. Whether you’re wanting to see donated dollars go directly to help those in your community, or feeling called to serve the community in person, Feed the Region has a need for your gifts and talents.

Our Process

Engage the Community

We know that the best way to help the community is by small, consistent, contributions from our neighbors. We engage directly with the community to source donations, volunteers, and to spread the word. Volunteer Today!

Train Volunteers

Volunteers are trained with our mission in mind. Not only do we feed our neighbors, but we treat them with dignity. Volunteers are trained to be safe and helpful but also to know that we are all one community who succeeds together. Click here to learn more about volunteering with Feed the Region.

Feed the Region

Each week we gather at Nana Clare’s in Valparaiso Indiana to cook for and serve our neighbors. We do so with joy and love so that the food nourishes bellies and hearts alike. Click here to see what’s cooking and what we still need for This Week’s Meal.

Repeat!

We encourage small, continuous involvement so that we can continue to fight food insecurity in The Region until it is eradicated completely from our community. Find out more about how we encourage this on our FAQ page.
